Eating a well balanced diet is beneficial for men, of all age group. A balanced diet much includes variety of foods which contain enough proteins, vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates. It also prevents you from various types diseases like cancer, heart disease etc.
If you are not sure about your diet then you can also consult with doctor or dietician. There are
many types of foods which might not be suitable for you, so before adopting any diet plan, first concerned with your doctor or dietician.
A healthy diet for man includes, following things.
- A man must eat fruits and vegetables for daily basis or at least take a glass of juice.
- Eat more food which is rich in starch like rice, potatoes, cereals, pulses etc.
- Eat more protein rich food like fish, meat, pulses etc
- Use more grilled, boiled, steam and baked food instead of fried or roasted food.
- Reduce sweets or desserts in your diet.
- Don’t eat more spicy and salty food.
- Leave bad habits like smoking and drinking. You can drink 3 to 4 unit of alcohol in a day.
- Minimum drink 8 cups of water in a day.
- Drink more juices and health drinks instead of cold and flavored drinks.
Men are generally less conscious about their health as compare to women, which leads the risk of many diseases like cancer, heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.
According to a research, men have more death rate then women in case of above diseases.
Why fruits and vegetables are beneficial for men’s health?
Fruits generally provide essential nutrients to your body, which includes fiber, minerals and vitamins. It also contains various types of phytochemicals which protects you from various types of diseases. Generally medicines or pills cannot provide you these protections and sometimes they also have some side effects.
Different vegetables and fruits provide different types of disease-fighting phytochemicals, which protects our health from different diseases. Some men also take different types of supplements to build their muscles or body. But these supplements cannot replace a healthy diet and exercise, to prevent men from various types of diseases.

In today’s complicated lifestyle women have no time for exercise rather than generate bad eating habits. These bad eating habits involve eating lots of junk food, which results in less concentration on natural diets. Due to which now day’s women are suffering from various types of physical and mental diseases.
Some of the foods which women can include in her meal, to satisfy the nutrient demands of the body are as follows:

Foods rich in calcium – Women have to take various foods which are rich in calcium, so that they become strong, healthy, rise and shine. Some of the foods which are rich in calcium include milk, cheese, and yogurt, dates, apricot, lime, orange, guava, raisins etc. Calcium rich diet prevents women from high blood pressure and osteoporosis.
- Foods rich in fiber – Women should include some of the foods in their meal, which are rich in fiber as it burn calories and also prevent from cancer. The food which are rich in fiber are broccoli, spinach, green peas, beans , nuts and seeds such as almonds etc.
- Berries – Berries are antioxidants and ellagic acid which fight from colon cancer and also has a good source of fiber.
- Nuts – Nuts are rich in proteins and are a great source of energy.
- Water – Water prevents you from the problem of dehydration. Sometimes Dehydration also results in headache, poor concentration and fatigue. At least drink 8 glass of water in a day which makes feel you fresh and fine.
- Grains – Eat rich grain diet as it satisfy the nutrients requirement of the body and also burnt calories. Grains are also a good fiber source.
- Carrots - Carrot sticks with a cube of cheese helps you in absorption of those cancer-fighting carotenoids.
- Lean Proteins - If you are more active then you require more protein in your diet as protein is a good source of energy. So try to add more foods in your diet which are rich in lean proteins. Pulses, eggs, fresh meat are some of the example of foods which are rich in lean proteins.
- Beans – Beans are also the rich source of nutrients. In half cup of beans you get 5 grams of fiber. It also helps in fighting colon cancer. So try to use more beans in your diet.
- Cocoa - Cocoa has more antioxidant power than tea. Blood platelets from clotting can be avoided using cocoa, which may prevent heart attacks and the milk in hot cocoa makes your bones stronger.

You should develop good eating habits in your children while they are young. It not only ensures physical fitness but ensure mental fitness also. Right eating habits from the childhood not only develop good lifestyle of your child but also ensure good health when they are adults.
You should encourage your children to eat more fruits, vegetables and cereals instead of the food which is rich in fat. You must ensure a proper balanced diet for your children which contain less calories and rich in nutrition.
If you are not sure, what are the right foods for your children then you can take advice of dietitian. If your child is obese, you should take care of its diet as diet is one of the important factors of obesity. Don’t put your child on the Diet unless it is recommended by the doctor as it may create some health disorders.
The steps which parent should follow to ensure healthy eating habits in your children are as follows:
- Generally cooked nutritious food at the home.
- Advice your child to eat slowly as slowly eating ensures proper digestion of food.
- Educate your children about nutrition and food preferences so they can know that which food is better for health and which food is not.
- Encourage your children not to eat in front of TV as while watching TV they can eat more then the feeling of fullness.
- Allot a separate area in your home where you can take your meal with your family and also guide children about the good eating habits.
- Don’t eat snacks all the time. It will also lead to overeating.
- Encourage your children to drink more natural drinks like juices and water instead of soft drinks, sodas etc.
- You should also ensure that your child eat healthy food when he/she is not at the home.
- Also teach them about the harmful effects of smoking and over drinking of alcohol.
- Try to become a role model for the children as if you enjoy food in front of them they will also do the same.
- Never use the food as reward or punishment.

Health is an important thing in the human life. Lack of good health means your daily lifestyle is not properly going on. Any health related problem whether it is big or small, it brings your daily life out of order. Ignorance of the small health disorder sometimes is the cause of major diseases. So everybody should follow some good healthy eating habits to prevent himself from various types of diseases.
So Question will arise that what is healthy diet or what are the ingredients of your daily meal. Your healthy eating habits it heavily depends upon your daily meal. Your daily eating habits is one of the factors which decide how healthy you are.
If your diet includes more spicy and oily food rather than the nutritious food, causes serious harm to your health. So minimize or avoid junk food and concentrate more on nutritious foods. Some of the healthy eating habits which you should follow in your daily life include:
- Eat different types of nutritious food, as single type of food does not fulfill your daily nutritious requirement.
- Your meal should contain more fruits, vegetables and pulses.
- Avoid junk foods, which are rich in calories.
- Drink lot of water in a day, but not at the time when you are taking your meal.
- Limit fat and sugar intake in your diet.
- You should plan your diet at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Avoid bad habits like smoking, chewing tobacco and drinking less amount alcohol.
- Take fruits juices instead of cold drinks and flavored drinks.
By following these above points, you not only prevent yourself from different type of physical and mental diseases but also enjoy your life in a healthy way.

- Good Health does not mean that you are physically fit, but it includes both the physical and mental aspects of human being. Physical fitness is not an only criteria of good health but it also includes mental and social wellbeing of a person. According to World Health Organization (WHO) “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.
The above definition state that a good health cover all the aspect related to human being. If you are only physically fit, it does not mean you have good health. A person may be a physically fit, but it is not necessary that he is mentally fit also.
Lifestyle of a person has a major role in its good health. Now days, change in lifestyle leads to many types of diseases. These diseases are not only physically related like obesity etc but it also include mental illness like depression, anxiety etc. So unless we improve our lifestyle we cannot have good health.
If you have good health, you can perform your regular work without any restrictions. So a person important goal is to maintain good health. For this you have to do regular exercise and eat healthy foods like fruits, vegetables and pulses instead of junk foods. Lack of nutritious diet and exercise increase the risk of developing some diseases.
Some of the points which you kept in mind for a good healthy life include:
- Exercise Daily
- Eat Balance diet which is full of nutrition and low fat.
- You should take proper and complete sleep at night.
- Limit your junk food and make good food choices.
- Excess of anything is harmful so take adequate amount of sleep and food.
- Also encourage other people of your family about good health living.
- Leave bad habits like smoking, drinking etc.
- Drink plenty of water. Avoid drinking soft drinks and other drinks containing sugar.
